Please be aware that prescriptions from MindWeal providers cannot be filled through Medicaid as we do not have any providers credentialed with Medicaid. Since MindWeal does not accept Medicaid, prescriptions must be processed through your primary insurance.
Dr. Bansal was previously able to assist with Medicaid-covered prescriptions because his Medicaid credentialing from a previous job had not yet been deactivated. However, as of 01/31/2025, Medicaid has officially deactivated his credentialing, and it cannot be reinstated.
What This Means for Your Prescription Coverage:
- Your primary insurance should still cover your medications as long as they are included in its formulary. Make sure your pharmacy bills your primary insurance first.
- Medicaid is a secondary payer and a "payer of last resort." If your primary insurance covers the medication, Medicaid does not need to be involved in the payment process.
- If there is a copay or remaining balance after primary insurance pays, Medicaid will not cover these additional costs.
If Your Primary Insurance Does Not Cover Your Medication:
- Formulary Differences: Your primary insurance’s formulary may be different from Medicaid’s. If your primary insurance does not cover the prescribed medication, we may need to adjust the prescription to one that is covered.
- Next Steps: Please reach out to us if this happens. In some cases, we may be able to change the prescription without a clinical visit. However, depending on the situation, we may need to schedule an earlier visit to discuss alternative options.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
IF YOUR INSURANCE IS ONLY "MEDICAID"
You will need to reach out to your PCP to fill the prescription. Please let us know in that case, and we will send a list of your medications to your PCP so that they can fill it. Moving forward, we can send a short note with your medication list to them every time we see you so that they know what medications they need to fill. Please remind your provider to do that every time you see them.
