Appointment Scheduling

How can I schedule an appointment with my provider?

For new patients, the appointment process is straightforward. First, create an account on our website, then provide your basic demographic information, and finally, request an appointment with your preferred dates and times. Within 1 business day, our staff will call you to schedule your appointment.

If you're an existing patient, your provider typically schedules your next appointment during your visit. However, you can also book the appointment yourself online through the MindWeal app. Alternatively, you can contact us via secure messaging on the app or by calling us directly.

At MindWeal, we strive to make the appointment scheduling process as easy and accessible as possible for both new and existing patients.

How can I reschedule my appointment?

Rescheduling with MindWeal is straightforward. You can respond to the appointment reminder sent 1-2 weeks prior to your visit. Alternatively, you can request to reschedule using the secure messaging feature on the MindWeal app or by calling us directly. Please remember a $50 late cancellation fee is charged for rescheduling within 24 hours of the appointment (excluding weekends and holidays). Our goal is to provide flexibility while effectively managing appointments to serve all patients.

How do I cancel my appointment?

Canceling your MindWeal appointment is simple. You can respond to the appointment reminder sent 1-2 weeks in advance, or you can request a cancellation using the secure messaging feature on the MindWeal app or by calling us directly. Please note that a $50 fee applies for cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment (weekends and holidays excluded). We strive to balance flexibility with efficient appointment management for all our patients.

What is your cancellation policy?

At MindWeal, we request a 24-hour notice (excluding weekends and holidays) for appointment cancellations to manage schedules effectively. Late cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment incur a $50 fee. This policy aids in efficient resource allocation and benefits all our patients.

What is your No show policy?

Our clinic has a No Show policy to manage appointments better. If you miss an appointment without notice, you'll be charged a $50 No Show fee. We try to be flexible for unexpected situations, but it's important to control no-shows for smooth operations. This helps us use appointment slots wisely and serve all patients on time.

Do you offer virtual or in-person visits?

At MindWeal, we offer both in-person and online visits to suit your needs. You can choose either option for new patient evaluations. Follow-up appointments for medication management are generally conducted online, though in-person visits can be arranged if necessary. Services for ADHD and executive functioning are available in both formats. Our virtual services provide a convenient, patient-centered approach with reduced wait times.

What are the benefits of virtual visits?

  1. Building a quicker therapeutic relationship: During virtual visits, patients often feel more comfortable in the familiar setting of their home, leading to more open communication about their problems and emotions. This fosters the establishment of a therapeutic alliance more rapidly.
  2. Insight into family dynamics: Virtual visits allow psychiatrists to observe the child in their home environment, providing valuable information about family dynamics and parenting styles. Understanding these dynamics plays a crucial role in comprehending the child's mental state.
  3. Convenience and minimal disruption: Virtual visits offer convenience for both parents and children, as they can attend appointments without the need to take time off from work or school. This leads to fewer cancellations, improved treatment compliance, and a more effective treatment process.
  4. Increased access to mental health care: Telepsychiatry benefits people in rural areas who may not have easy access to psychiatrists within a drivable distance. With telemedicine, mental health care becomes accessible from anywhere in the world, bringing essential services to those in need.
